Hi, I'm Frances Treanor. Welcome to Maple House Therapy.

Frances Treanor

Flexible Ways of Working

I primarily offer therapy online, which many people find convenient and accessible.

Where appropriate, and following an initial assessment, I can also offer sessions in your home (Home-Based Therapy) or meet in an agreed outdoor setting. This may be helpful if you experience difficulties accessing online therapy, have mobility needs, or where working in nature supports your therapeutic goals (for example, mindfulness or improving physical health).

Any in-person work is carefully considered and planned to ensure it is safe, appropriate, and supportive of your therapy.

About me

I've been told that I'm very warm, welcoming and easy to talk to — with an abundance of empathy, kindness, and motivation to help discover the best path to recovery for everyone I work with.

I offer a person-centred, flexible approach. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is the foundation and evidence base, but I am highly adaptable to my clients needs. I bring my counselling and coaching skills as well as a spiritual aspect to my practice — recognising that changing lives is more than a set of tasks and skills to learn. Together, our work can be deep, meaningful and transformative.

I am human – not a chatbot. Apps and AI can be useful, but they can't sit with you, notice the small things, or respond with real warmth and understanding. Therapy is about connection, trust, and being genuinely met by another person — not just getting the "right" answer. If you're looking for real conversations, real empathy, and real support from a real human, you've found it.

When not working I love to get out in nature — off to the Peaks, or an afternoon in the garden doing my favourite 'bee meditations'.

Professional Experience

I have been supporting individuals through mental health challenges since 2002. My journey began in the NHS as a mental health nurse. This shaped my belief in the power of a compassionate, person-centred approach. In 2011 I qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, gaining BABCP accreditation in 2013. I bring more than 20 years of experience to my psychotherapy practice, equipped with a comprehensive therapeutic toolkit.
